God

Note: I rewrote this because it really sucked the first time I wrote it. I hope its an acceptable read now lol.

> Believing in God isnt easy. The choice you make in what you allow yourself to believe will determine how you life your life. Regardless of whoever I would talk to, I would urge them to sit alone and think about it for a long long time. And I do not think you should really just go off of what you have heard or what other people have told you, I think the decision should require a bit of effort into understanding what you are really getting yourself into. I would also urge them to take a very serious look into the truth of Jesus Christ. I strongly believe that if you really look into what He said, you will see that nothing comes close to it.

I think just about any reasonable person would agree the ethical teachings of Jesus are good. Love thy neighbor is largely agreed upon and is something most other people are happy to live by. All of the other teachings of Jesus are similarly accepted too, like being careful to judge, working to bring other people up, and not lie. I would only suggest that if these teachings are reliable and truthful, shouldn't there be some merit in investigating where the person who said these things got them?

Jesus wasn't just some wise man who happened upon his good teachings, he explicitly states the source of all that is good. And this source isnt just some thing that is out there and we just accept, it is a reality we will and must interact with. People often forget that the foremost thing Jesus taught is to love God. Not some concept, or symbol, or ideal, but the living God of Abraham from the bible. The God who was said to do great things, interact with people, and change the world. The God who is holy, perfect, and loving to us as well. Why would a man who taught the truth so earnestly that he would die for it attribute it to a lie? What purpose is there to it?

If you take the time to trust Jesus because of the truths he has said and decide to look into the God he spoke of, I think you will find a harmonious truth. The Bible isnt an easy book to go through. Many things it says are hard to grasp, and it is very full of things to say. But taking the time to examine each story, each command, and each warning will point very obviously in a certain way. And the more you read, the more clear what the thing being pointed to is. Even a single one of the four gospels can do this very clearly. Every book in the bible does so as well, but it does take effort. But the light that shines through as you move through this book illuminates the most important reality there is. There is a God who loves you, and he loves you very dearly. And because he loves you so much, he doesn't want to let the evil of the world and the things you may have done define you. So he sent down his only Son to excuse you of those evil things.

John 3:16 is the verse that most clearly states the truth above. Some of the words, ideas, or the meaning of the verse itself may be misunderstood though. So I urge you if nothing else to look at every word in that verse, investigate what it means, learn what it means to you, and learn what it means for the world. I think if you do that for every word in that verse, then do it for the verse as a whole, you will learn something very important. I really think you should then sit and think for a long time about all the research you just did. And just like when you have a huge knot in a very long stretch of string, pull at every idea and straighten out its meaning in your head. Go to the end of every string and make sure you have pulled out everything that you can, do it for every part of the knot, and do it until there is no knot or any loops left. Then trust in the truths you know that are true which Jesus said, have faith in what you know and hope for, and try to live according to all those things. I really do think Jesus is the truth and hope that you can see this too. Its a truth that will change your life in ways you really could never expect or believe.

God bless you in all that you do.
